Online Quilt-Alongs designed for Guilds!

Bring your guild together online to discover new techniques, enhance their abstract piecing skills, and deepen their connection to each other through these playful, restorative quilt-along classes designed to get everyone flow-sewing in fresh new ways.

They will learn ruler-free piecing techniques, intuitive approaches to color, how to make do and make beautiful using their scraps. They will love celebrating their “mistakes” and letting go of perfection and enjoy the experience flow in this mindful, heart centered approach to improv quilting.

My online classes for guilds are designed for medium to large numbers, incorporate community interaction and break out rooms. They are 4-hours with a 15 minute break. They work best when all your guild members are joining me from their own devises from the comfort of their sewing rooms.

  • Follow along as I describe my four-month artist residency at Recology in 2016. My goal was to explore the nature of making do while creating an exhibition, including six quilts, made entirely out of materials scavenged from the San Francisco dump.

  • This fun interactive improv quilting demo begins with a short brainstorming session about the limits of patchwork and how to easily apply limits to access your creative flow and focus your improv patterns. I will demonstrate a variety of ruler-free quilting techniques and the process of improvisational quilting by following audience prompts to improvise a quilt composition on the spot.

  • Working with materials that carry meaning, memory and emotion, the creative process of Passage Quilting fosters a healing heart. I will review memorial and scrap quilting traditions with historical images, and share stories from my 20 years of practice to illustrate how Passage Quilting supports the bereavement and growth process we all experience during times of transition and loss.
