patchwork improv at the workroom in toronto
I’m thrilled to be teaching a series of one and two-day Patchwork Improv workshops at the workroom in Toronto the third week of July, and you don’t need to be Canadian to attend! Did you know that Toronto is only an 8.5 hour drive from my home base in Cincinnati, OH, via Michigan, and upstate NY? Get out your passports if need be. What could be more fun than a week of improv quilting!
If you have never been to the workroom, its a destination in it’s own right. Run by the sweet and savvy Karyn Valino (co-author and photographer of the stunning Hand Made Getaway), it is a maker space and shop that is sure to inspire your best work. Located on the funky, and indy Queen Street near Toronto’s city center, it’s a perfect location to get your YES AND improv on!
Here is the line-up…

Let’s have a patchwork convo! If you’ve never taken an Improv Round Robin with me I guarantee you will be surprised and delighted by the outcome!
Tuesday, 7/23, 10am-5pm Colour String Theory 1-day WorkshopRegister here
Frankly speaking fixed pattern colour rules that we have learned so well look kind of crappy scrappy when applied to flexible pattern work (aka improv). This workshop is designed for you to think about color diversity and inclusion in exciting new ways. An expansion of my online workshop Patchwork Improv: Working with Strips on Creativebug.

Oops… this sold out fast! If you are on the west coast you can catch it in August at The Handcraft Studio School.

Let me be your expert guide through the over and under stretches of this innovative, challenging and magical technique. After all I am the one who invented it!
