Company in the Studio

Today Dia, my friend Michael's daughter, spent the day with me at the studio. She made a pillow for her friend Kinako. She did almost all of the work on her pillow but I did take the time to help her here and there. I liked having her company in the studio. It was a nice change of pace.

Because Dia was with me, I was unable to focus all my attention on the Mod Mood Quilt that I've been trying to finish up. This was a good thing. Since I didn't have as much time to contemplate my next move, I did things quickly. I decided to go ahead and sew the quilt up, rather than look at it and consider other possibilities endlessly. Often I reach a point toward the end of a big piece when I start procrastinating. Dia's presence in the studio moved me past that point today and I am thankful she was there. She was also a lot of fun to hang out with.
