Improv Quilting

The Rhythm of Freedom: Improv Quilting and Antiracism
Antiracist ideas and actions are actually fundamental to improvisational process. To be an antiracist is to be a person who acts to liberate others and self. Improv encourages us to truly see, hear, and value others, which strengthens relationships and communities and encourages risk taking, innovation and change.

Embracing The Work of Anti-Racism with Improv
It’s a sign of hope when the unspoken comes to the surface and the floodgates are finally open. It’s a sign of progress and something to lean into. At the very least it has put a fire under my heels! The importance of holding space in the center for the most marginalized, has always been one of my core beliefs, and my commitment to live and act from this believe is stronger than ever.

home of one's own
In 1929, “A Room of One’s Own” was Virginia Woolf’s call for women to be educated and to claim space for their voices, their visions and their power as creators, citizens and leaders. Virginia was a contemporary of my grandmother’s era. Today I have SIX rooms of my own plus a kitchen and two bathrooms!
